The Prayer God Always Answers

Every believer knows the ache of unanswered prayer — the healing that didn't come, the door that stayed shut. But there is one prayer Scripture says God always answers, and it is the prayer we pray least: "How much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" (Luke 11:13).

Ask for bread, and the Father gives bread in His wisdom and timing. Ask for the Spirit — for more of God Himself — and the answer is always yes, always now, always more. David understood this. Of all the things he could have requested, he asked for one: "that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD" (Psalm 27:4).

God sometimes denies our requests, but He never denies us Himself.

What would change if this became the centre of your prayer life? The circumstances you beg God to change might remain — but you would be changed within them. "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" (James 4:8). It is the only promise in Scripture with a guaranteed, immediate answer. Pray it today.
